TWO NATIONAL PAN-CANCER PATIENT ADVOCACIES MERGING
SURVIVEIT® MERGES WITH ONE CANCER PLACE
(Denver, CO) – Two Denver-based cancer patient advocacies have merged their organizations in an effort to support those facing cancer like never before. Though the offering is the first comprehensive approach to facing cancer effectively, navigation is at the forefront of their mission and priorities.
“Merging with One Cancer Place was a no-brainer. When we launched the world’s first Cancer Navigation Tool in 2020 we had a dream of one day pairing patients with survivors to augment the tool and experience. We understand the value of speaking with a survivor when you are in the thick of it. One Cancer Place has the survivor community; SURVIVEiT has the online navigation tool. Together, we will help people like no other organization has or currently is. We are honored to merge with ‘The New Patient Powerhouse’ that is One Cancer Place,” said Joy Rusthoven, SURVIVEiT’s Executive Director.
One Cancer Place is an organization that has been focused on building a coalition of survivors that want to personally help those facing cancer. SURVIVEiT is an organization that systemized the process of efficiently facing cancer by harnessing an online tool that personalizes the process – ultimately, equipping patients to make informed decisions. Accessing the best care available is the end goal. An online tool and lay patient navigators are the unique means of accomplishing that.
About the merger, Founder of One Cancer Place, Erika Brown, said: “We are thrilled about offering cancer patients a full service experience as they are faced with a difficult disease and daunting path to navigate. Our people have been in the shoes of the newly diagnosed and we have invaluable experience and knowledge because of that. Our medical advisors are passionate about utilizing One Cancer Place to educate and support those with active disease. We all ‘get it’ and want to be the place where people turn at any and all points during the process – whether that be understanding their unique diagnosis, finding innovative treatment options, finding their voice, or finding the right resource beyond treatment. We are glad and equipped to meet them right where they are.“
Both organizations utilize the expertise of medical professionals, researchers and those who have experienced cancer firsthand: survivors, patients, and caregivers. Collectively, the output is a unique offering sure to increase access to better care and fully support patients along the way.
About One Cancer Place: One Cancer Place is a registered 501(c)(3) national cancer patient advocate with a mission to create a global, all-cancer patient-led learning community connected to innovative treatment offerings.
