Tips To Help You Get Through The Holiday Season

SURVIVEiT Tips to help you get through the holiday season

We know this time of year can be tough for people like us. Maybe you’ve recently been diagnosed with cancer. Maybe you’re reading this from a hospital bed. Perhaps you’re in remission and you recall a Christmas you though you be your last. Maybe you lost someone and this is the first Christmas without them.

It’s easy to feel isolated this time of year.

SURVIVEiT® wants you to know you are not alone. We’ve been there and we’d like to give you a few tips to help you get through this holiday season:

  1. Acknowledge the sadness and know that it’s okay to feel it. What you’re facing is a loss, and it shouldn’t be dismissed.
  2. Take a moment to identify three things you are truly grateful for, and think about them with intention. Don’t just list them – think about why you’re grateful for them. Be specific.
  3. Recall one of the happiest times in your life. Maybe it’s been a while, or maybe it was recent but circumstances seem to have robbed you of that joy. IT will do your heart and spirit good to relive it in your mind.
  4. Do something for someone in need. We’re seeking donations to help bring our new tool to life and create a world free from the fear of cancer.
  5. Hug your child, your spouse, a grandparent, friend or a pet. And we mean a big bear hug! Make sure you tell them you love them.

Sometimes we get caught up in our circumstances (good or bad) and miss the beauty that surrounds us this time of year. So be sure to take some time to find, or rediscover, the good in your life. Christmas can be merry; sometimes it just takes more work to make it so.
