How to Manage Side Effects of Cancer Treatments | Step 4: SUPPORTiT
Managing the side effects of cancer treatment can be difficult and frustrating. Because our bodies are unique, it is difficult to predict which side effects will be problematic. Thankfully, there are now (Supportive Care) specialists who study side effects and ways to effectively mitigate them.
Studies show, patients who have access to Supportive Care at their treatment center and adequate resources during treatment typically have better outcomes and fewer treatment interruptions.
Not every treatment center has a supportive care team; however, there are a few other resources everyone should know about to help while on treatment.
We know side effect management is an important phase of the cancer journey, so we dedicated one of the five steps in our new Cancer Navigation Tool to it.
